A Fantastic Remaster

Having had Friday the 13th (2009) in Blu-ray before, this release was a really nice and noticeable upgrade into 4k. There are some wonderful NEW special features here as well as carryovers from the previous Blu-ray releases, so this version is the definitive way to own Friday the 13th (2009) if you are a fan of this film!

Awesome 4k release

This was a really nice transfer, I thought it looked great. Nice brand new interviews and commentaries. It has cool packaging with a post card, a double sided poster and a nice illustrated booklet with new writing about the film, a reversible sleeve and 2 cuts of the movie. This was a great remake that combine's original aspects of Friday the 13th 1-4 into 1 film. This Jason is taller, more intimidating and brutal and he sets traps to catch new victims. Overall this was a great remake, now if we could get a new movie sometime soon, that would be awesome.

Friday the 13th (2009)

Very impressed with the transfer along with the new interviews with the Director and writers. Hopefully Arrow will get the rights to other classics from The 2000's Remake craze. The Hills Have Eyes would be a treat to see in 4K along with The Blob and The Fly from The 80's Remakes

Fantastic 4k transfer!

Coming from a 2k digital intermediate, I got to say this transfer is very impressive! Watching this on an OLED TV, and it's a huge, and I mean HUGE upgrade over the 2010 Blu-ray. If you are even remotely a fan of this movie you need to stop what you are doing and buy this right now.

Great special features and packaging, disappointing transfer.

I love the cover art and packaging but unfortunately the color grading is significantly worse than the blu ray and original 35mm prints. The balance of cool dark tones and warm golden light throughout the film is gone, it now looks very muted and too bright. On the original blu ray, the night time shots looked naturally dark and creepy. On the 4K the lighting is too obvious and illuminating. I've recently seen this on a pristine 35mm print and I think the blu ray is closer to how it was originally presented, despite the improved bit rate and depth of field. The color grading of this 4K upscale looks too digital and bland. I don't recommend it.

A Classic Retelling

This was my favorite movie back in ‘09 I remember going to the movie theater with my older brother to watch this and instantly purchased it on blu-ray (which I still have) but when I saw that Arrow was rereleasing it on 4K I had to pre-order to add it to my collection I can’t wait to receive this next month!!!!
