[A locked chest is thrown into the sea. Inside it are Perseus and his mother Danae. Danae is a mortal woman who with Zeus, the king of gods, conceived Perseus, making him a demigod.]
[A crying baby Perseus is taken off the chest by a fisherman, Spyros. Danae's body lies dead in the chest.] Io: Into this world, a child was born.

[In Mount Olympus, Zeus talks to mortal men and women.] Zeus: I created them. Their insolence has a price.

[In Argos, a city ruled by King Kepheus and Queen Cassiopeia, they are celebrating their campaign against the gods. Hades interrupts and kills Cassiopeia by rapidly aging her.] Zeus: Turn them on each other and back into our arms.
