[It's winter in rural Minnesota. Hank, his brother Jacob and their friend Lou chase a fox into the snowy woods.] Lou: Look at all them birds. Jacob: Those things are always waitin' on something to die so they can eat it, right? What a weird job.
[The three men stumble across a crashed airplane.] Jacob: That's an airplane.
[Hank tries to push the airplane door open.] Hank: I wonder how long it's been here.
[Hank climbs inside it. He gets startled as the back of the plane moves down with his weight. Lou drags a heavy black bag out of the plane.] Jacob: It's probably one of those drunk doctors. They're always crashing their plane, you know? Hank: Argh!
[The three men gather around the large black bag. Inside it there are wads of banknotes.] Lou: Oh, my God! Look at this! Hank: Those are $100 bills!
Lou: I bet it's drug money. Jacob: If this guy's a dope dealer, we're just like Robin Hood.
Hank: It's a police matter now. What do you think we should do?
Lou: What if we didn't turn it in? Hank: It's stealing.
Lou: It's the American dream in a gym bag. He just wants to walk away from it.
Hank: You work for the American dream. You don't steal it.
Lou: Then this is even better.
[A caption reads, "A Sam Raimi film".]
[At his home, Hank empties the money from the bag onto the table in front of a surprised Sarah. She is his wife and is pregnant with their first child.]
[Sarah laughs at the sight of all that money.]
[The sun has now set and the three men are still in the woods. They count the money they found.] Lou: Four million dollars. Jacob: Look how square it is.
[A vehicle approaches in the distance.] Hank: If somebody comes searching for the money, I'll burn it. Look, we gotta be agreed on this.
[A caption reads, "Bill Paxton".]
[Hank speaks to his wife Sarah in their home.] Hank: Would you have done the same thing? I mean, if you'd been there instead of me?
[A caption reads, "Billy Bob Thornton".]
[Back in the snowy woods, Jacon talks to his brother Hank.] Jacob: I wish somebody else had found that money.
[A caption reads, "Bridget Fonda".]
[Hank and Sarah talk.] Hank: Does it scare you? Sarah: Yeah, it scares me. What if he tells somebody?
[Hank and Jacob talk.] Hank: Just stick to the story and we'll skip right through.
[Carl Jenkins, the town's sheriff, walks into the barber's where Hank is having a haircut.] Sheriff Carl Jenkins: Man from the FBI is gonna be driving through. Seems they're looking for a lost plane.
[Outside of Hank and Sarah's home, a startled Hank looks through the door only to jump when Lou suddenly appears.]
[Lou and Hank talk outside Hank's.] Lou: I want my share. Hank: The plan was to sit on the money till we decide that it's safe to keep it.
[Hank talks to Jacob at the hospital. Sarah has just given birth and Jacob is visiting the baby.] Hank: It's like there's two sides now. Jacob: We're all in this together, man.
Hank: If you had to pick right now, who'd it be? Jacob: You, you're my brother.
[Sarah and Hank talk in bed.] Sarah: From now on, we have to be thinking ahead all the time.
[Agent Renkins, an FBI agent, talks to Hank in Carl's office.] Agent Renkins: To someone who's been properly trained, there are many ways to detect a liar.
[Sarah, holding the baby, talks to Hank in their bedroom.] Sarah: You're just a normal guy, a nice, sweet, normal guy. Hank: They're gonna know. Sarah: No, they won't.
[In Carl's office, another man, Agent Baxter, talks to Hank, Jacob and Carl.] Agent Baxter: Do you think you could take us out there?
Hank: Can you tell us what this is all about? Baxter: Lookin' for a plane.
[In their home, Hank and Sarah talk.] Hank: I'm taking the money back right now.
[The phone rings in Carl's office. It's Sarah.] Sarah: You gotta get out of there. Carl: Everything OK?
Sarah: He's gonna shoot all three of you, Hank. As soon as he sees the plane.
[Outside Lou's home, he points a riffle at Hank.] Lou: Don't move!
[In the snowy woods, Hank and Jacob talk. Hank pushes a snowmobile with an unconscious farmer inside it over a bridge.] Hank: We gotta make this look like it was an accident.
[A scared Jacob sits in Hank's car.] Jacob: They're not gonna take me away, are they?
[Lou and Jacob point riffles at each other outside Lou's home.] Lou: We're the ones who need that money. He just wants it! Jacob: Put the gun down!
[Hank runs through the snow in the woods.] Hank: Jacob!
[Sarah talks to Hank in their home while holding the baby.] Sarah: Well, I'm trying to come up with a plan.
[In the snowy woods.] Hank: Don't turn your back!
[Shots in quick succession of gunfire exchange. Sarah screams as Hank burns the money.] Sarah: No!
[Black birds cawing. A caption reads, "A Simple Plan".]
[A frail Jacob talks to Hank.] Jacob: Hank, do you ever feel evil? I do.

SOMETIMES GOOD PEOPLE DO EVIL THINGS.
Working from an Academy Award-nominated screenplay by Scott B. Smith (adapting his own bestselling novel), director Sam Raimi swapped his trademark hyperkinetic horror for stark, bone-chilling tension in the expertly-crafted, critically-acclaimed thriller A Simple Plan.
Hank Mitchell (Bill Paxton) and his wife Sarah (Bridget Fonda) have big dreams and a baby on the way, but are stuck in the small Minnesota town where Hank grew up alongside his sweet but naive brother Jacob (Billy Bob Thornton, Oscar-nominated for Best Supporting Actor). One day while walking in the woods, Hank, Jacob, and Jacob's friend Lou (Brent Briscoe) discover a small plane buried in the snow, with a dead pilot inside... and a duffel bag containing over $4 million in cash. It's a once-in-a-lifetime chance to grasp the American dream in one fell swoop, if they can just keep it a secret - but Hank soon learns that keeping that secret will come at a terrible cost.
A bleak, heart-stopping morality play with allusions to Macbeth and The Treasure of the Sierra Madre (Raimi's favorite film), A Simple Plan returns in a brand new director-approved 4K remaster accompanied by new and exclusive bonus features.
