Not the best movie, but there was a lot of work put into this Blu-ray.

We watched the theatrical version first and it was awful, didn't now what was going on half the time. Then we watched the Director's cut and there was so much content added that it really pieced together a better movie. The extra features were really cool.

Legend

Rare Tom Cruise/Scott collaboration. Mia Sara is timeless. I have no words for what Tim Curry is doing in this movie. He is magic on the screen. He's captivating and you can see how much fun he's having. Sets, practical effects, and makeup are immaculate and create a world that is real and stunningly beautiful. Story is fairly text-book fantasy but the larger than life characters and Tom Cruise's charisma make up for what the story is lacking.

classic 1980s drama/adventure

not personally impressed with the whole film (I think that Tom Cruise was not the best choice for this role and found the movie boring at times even though I enjoyed the great Tim Curry and the lovely Mia Sara), but enjoy both soundtracks.
